Led by our dedicated and experienced Course Director Lewis, you’ll gain the skills to design and deliver impactful dive courses, preparing your students for a lifetime of underwater exploration.

Becoming a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) marks a massive step of your journey into dive professionalism, granting you the ability to educate others on safe and enjoyable diving practices. This course serves as the gateway to a rewarding career in the diving industry, offering opportunities to work in dive centers, resorts, liveaboards, and various thrilling locations.

Throughout the course, candidates will learn to apply the PADI System of Diver Education, refine teaching techniques, and gain hands-on experience conducting classroom, pool, and open water sessions. The curriculum encompasses a thorough review of dive theory, practical skills, safety protocols, and teaching methodologies to ensure candidates are proficient in guiding and supervising students.

Participants will also have the opportunity to enhance their personal diving skills through workshops focusing on buoyancy control, navigation, and rescue procedures.

The course culminates in a two-day Instructor Examination (IE), where candidates showcase their mastery of requisite skills and knowledge with independent PADI examiners to attain certification as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.

Upon successful completion, graduates will be qualified to teach a diverse range of PADI courses, including the Discover Scuba Diving program, Open Water Diver course, Advanced Open Water Diver course, Rescue diver course and of course PADI Divemasters.

Furthermore after additional training (PADI Specialty Instructor courses), they can instruct courses such as Enriched Air Diver, Navigation, Deep Diver, and Wreck Diver, among many others.

To enroll in the PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) course, candidates must meet the following criteria:

👌 Hold the PADI Assistant Instructor certification or possess an equivalent leadership-level certification from another recognized dive training organization

👌 Be at least 18 years old

👌 Have completed EFR Primary and Secondary Care training within the last 24 months

👌 Medical clearance and fit to dive certificate within one year of certification

👌 Have a minimum of 100 logged dives, including night, deep and experience in underwater navigation.
